About Vodafivoni

An independent guide to the cafes and coffee shops of Czech Republic — written by people who drink a lot of coffee and spend a lot of time in Bohemia and Moravia.

What We Do

Vodafivoni is a guide to cafes and coffee shops in Czech Republic. We cover the full range of the country's coffee culture — from the grand historic coffeehouses of Prague's city centre to the small independent specialty cafes that have opened in Brno, Olomouc, and beyond over the past decade.

Our focus is on giving you the information you need to make good choices: where to go, what to order, what to expect, and why certain places are worth your time. We try to be honest and specific rather than vague and promotional.

We do not accept payment for coverage, and we do not publish sponsored content. All the cafes and coffee shops we write about are places we have visited and assessed on their own merits. This independence is important to us and, we hope, to you.

Our Approach

Czech Republic has a rich and varied coffee culture that is not always well-documented in English. The historic coffeehouses are covered in general travel guides, but the contemporary specialty scene — which has grown significantly in the past ten years — is less well-known to international visitors. We try to cover both, and to explain how they relate to each other.

We update our guides regularly. Coffee scenes change: cafes open and close, quality fluctuates, new roasters emerge. We aim to keep our information current and to be clear about when each piece was last reviewed.

What We Stand For

Independence

We pay for our own coffees and do not accept payment for coverage. Our opinions are our own.

Accuracy

We review our guides regularly and are clear about when information was last verified.

Quality Focus

We write about places that do something well, whether that is a perfectly made espresso or an irreplaceable historic atmosphere.
